Vegetable Prices Hike in Punjab-Haryana: Due to continuous rain in different parts of the country, there has been a big impact on the supply of vegetables. This is the reason why the prices of vegetables have increased drastically. In some parts of the country including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, the price of tomato has reached 200 rupees per kg.

According to experts, the price of tomato may exceed Rs 250 due to the weather. According to the consumer affairs website, the average price of tomato in the country has reached Rs 108. From the national capital Delhi to Punjab and Haryana, tomato prices have increased at a rocket pace. Due to the rain across the country, the supply has stopped and the production has decreased, due to which the prices are seeing an increase.

Traders say that the areas where the tomato crop was planted have been flooded due to heavy rains. On the other hand, onions and ginger growing indoors have also been affected due to bad weather. Many parts of the country including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have received heavy rains in the last few days. Due to this, there has been a lot of damage to the crops.

In Punjab, the price of tomato has reached Rs 10 to Rs 200 per kg in 15 days. Same is the case with cabbage. 10 days ago cabbage was selling at 60 to 80 rupees per kg. Now it has reached 110 rupees. Due to the sudden increase in the prices of vegetables, there is a lot of anger among the housewives due to the deterioration of the kitchen budget.

According to the vegetable sellers, the heavy rains that occurred 4 times in the month of July have raised the prices of vegetables to the seventh sky and the main reason for the increase in the prices of tomatoes was the heavy fall in tomatoes last month. Due to which the farmers either destroyed the tomato crop or uprooted the tomatoes and threw them away. Later, when the new crop started coming in, the heat increased and the tomato crop died. Now 4 heavy rains have played an important role in increasing the prices of vegetables.
