Kapurthala: A case of murder of a 10-year-old child by a woman as a grudge has come to light in Sultanpur Lodhi. The body of the child was found near the Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib. Deceased Ranbir Singh went missing on Monday afternoon while serving in Gurdwara Sahib.

The woman had an illicit relationship with the uncle of the deceased. Which was stopped by the parents of the deceased. Due to this grudge, the woman along with the deceased’s uncle pushed him to death in the van. The police registered a case of murder against both the accused and arrested them. Also, the dead child’s body has been kept in the civil hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

Gursharan Singh, the relative of the deceased, said that his son-in-law Charanjit Kaur had come with his 10-year-old son Karanbir Singh, a resident of village Sarupwal Hall, resident of Jawala Nagar, on Monday to serve in the langar hall of Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib. At around 12 noon, his mother-in-law asked Karanbir Singh to go home, but he started saying that he would not go home yet.

He is going to buy food from the market. After that, Karanbir went to get food and his mother continued to serve in Gurdwara Sahib. It was 12:30 at the time when Karanbir went to get food, but after that Karnbir Singh went missing. Neither he reached home nor came to Gurdwara Sahib, after which the whole family started looking for him and pushed him in the way.

He told that he has an illicit relationship with Karanbir Singh’s uncle. While Karanbir’s father Angrez Singh and mother Charanjit Kaur used to stop him. She wanted this family to go back to the village from the city.

Karanbir Singh’s uncle and his child were killed with this grudge. According to the DSP, both have been taken into custody. A case of murder has been registered against both of them in Sultanpur Lodhi police station.
