Traffickers not only deal in heroin but also decide where and when to drop the drug. This year, 71.82 kg of heroin was caught from the drone. In this, the smallest consignment is 1.8 kg and the largest one is 29.5 kg. In 2023, 34 drones have been caught till June. BSF and police caught 134 drones in 5 years, 2 to 11 drone movements are recorded daily.
In 3 months it has been seen that small drones are more active. 2 to 5 kg of drug is now supplied after being continuously caught by supplying 25 kg at a time. China-made drone lights are turned off. They do not even make a sound, the range is up to 4 km. Smugglers from Pakistan to Punjab deliver supplies in 12 to 16 minutes using mini drones. Which is half of the time taken for pizza delivery. Free consignment has been given in case of delay.
In the investigation, it has come to light that the drug smugglers communicate through social media platforms like Telegram, Signal, Whatsapp, Messenger by calling or messaging and fix the place for supply. Smugglers believe that both the risk and damage in mini drones are low. The speed of the mini drone is good. In 15 minutes, the drone returns to the designated place after leaving the drug. The fear of being caught by the smuggler has also reduced.
11 groups have been smuggling in Pakistan for 3 generations
Based on the information received from the sources, 27 points along the border of Punjab are the gateways of heroin smuggling. Smugglers have taken advantage of the situation here.
