Storage and Lifting of Wheat: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak on Thursday chaired a meeting through video conferencing with the District Food and Supply Controllers (DFSC) of all districts to review the ongoing procurement activities of RMS 2023-24.
Taking stock of the overall lifting of wheat from the markets across Punjab, Kataruchak appreciated the efforts of the department to pay the farmers on time. The Minister sought feedback from the regional officials on the storage situation and clarified that all efforts will be made to ensure smooth transportation and storage operations of the crop along with appropriate assistance.
Kharak, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Secretary Gurkirat Kripal Singh told the minister that the departments mentioned in the Transport Policy 2023-24 have implemented the online gate pass system. Apart from this, Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) has also been installed in most of the vehicles used for transporting wheat and gate passes are being generated online in all the districts of Punjab.
