Disease spread in China, health minister advises Punjab residents to be cautious

In view of the respiratory diseases occurring in the coming days due to changing weather, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of Punjab Dr. Balveer Singh reviewed the situation of the state. Also suggested a list of steps to be taken for disease prevention and control.

The government has also issued orders to the civil surgeon of each district and other medical colleges. Let us tell whether the state government has also ordered the health department to be on alert regarding the disease spreading in China.

Minister Balbir Singh said that all civil surgeons have been ordered to set up a separate flu unit in the OPD in which experienced para-medical staff should be prepared. Orders have been given to streamline it as soon as possible. People will not have to face any kind of trouble with this.

It should be said that along with flu corner, instructions have been given to set up oxygen supply, isolation ward in the hospital. The minister said that influenza A, H1, N1 and H3-N2 is a notifiable disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act in Punjab and a notification has already been issued in this regard.

He also directed that this notification should be sent to all government and private hospitals in the state to report suspected and confirmed cases.

The government has issued instructions that health workers working with ILI patients, people who come in contact with such patients or relatives, children, elderly and pregnant women should wear masks. Wash your hands with regular soap, stay away from crowded places and people with symptoms should contact the nearest medical facility.
