The dead body of a person washed in the Akhara Canal of Jagraon, Ludhiana has been recovered after 36 hours. He went to the canal to offer rice, vowing to beget a son. There his foot slipped. The deceased has been identified as Manjit Singh Mani. A team of divers had been searching for him continuously for 2 days. The police have taken the body into possession and kept it in the civil hospital for post-mortem.

In fact, a son was born 15 days ago in the house of Manjit Singh Mani, a resident of Philly Gate. As per the customs, a function was organized at home on the 13th birthday. Sweet rice was to be prepared and its prasad was to be served on the banks of the canal.
