Chandigarh: Against the handiwork of the BJP government of the Center to suppress the struggle of the powerful by coercion and defamation, the United Front organized large-scale protests against the central government in almost all the districts and tehsil centers of the state today. On this occasion, a large number of justice-loving people have expressed their protest against the central government and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and cancellation of the case filed against Bhalwan.
On this occasion, farmers, workers, women, youth, employees and student organizations on a large scale called for a bandwagon to throw the dictatorial and anti-women thinking of the BJP government into the dustbin. People in tehsils of Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Jalandhar, Faridkot, Bathinda, Moga, Mansa, Ludhiana, Nawan Shahr, Hoshiarpur, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Muktsar, Kapurthala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Ropar districts and many other places of the state. has raised his voice in favor of the strong against coercion.
In today’s Arthi Fuk protests, apart from 32 farmers’ organizations included in the United Farmers’ Front, major trade unions ATK, CITU, IFTU, as well as all major organizations of rural workers, women, employees, students and youth organizations participated. In many places, professors, lawyers and writers associated with the democratic rights movement also joined these protests.
The speakers targeted the authoritarian and anti-women ideology of the BJP and challenged the democratic right to struggle against the mistreatment of the powerful and their supporters. They demanded that Bhalwans should be given space to protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to raise their voice for justice.
The speakers said that the BJP has become a haven for criminals who commit crimes against women. That is why all possible efforts are being made to save Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh despite being booked in a serious crime like POSCO. She is being allowed to gather while efforts are being made to malign the struggle of the brave. The speakers said that the mistreatment of the medal winning girls has touched the heart of every justice-loving person. If this is the origin of the slogan of Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao, then the people of the country should bury such thinking in the garbage heap.
