Rattan Lal Kataria passed away on Thursday after a long illness

Ratan Lal Kataria was admitted to the PGI Hospital in Chandigarh for the past several days. Haryana BJP in-charge Biplab Dev also went to meet him on Wednesday. Kataria is known as Swayamsevak of RSS for the last 50 years and has also been the President of Harijan Kalyan Nigam and President of Guru Ravidas Sabha.

According to information, Ratan Lal Kataria was born on 19 December 1951 in village Sandhli of Yamunanagar district of Haryana. They have one daughter and two sons. He did his BA Honors and Master’s degree in Political Science from Kurukshetra University as well as LLB.

Talking about his political journey, he was elected Member of Parliament from Ambala Lok Sabha constituency during the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 and was re-elected for the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 and the 17th Lok Sabha in 2019. In May 2019, he was the Union Minister for Water Power and Social Justice Empowerment, Government of India.
