The government dismissed the allegations as false

The central government has also issued a statement on Jack Dorsey’s allegations. In a tweet, Union Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar has described Jack Dorsey’s allegations as false. Chandrasekhar wrote, ‘This is an attempt to clean up a dark period in Twitter’s history, when Twitter was constantly violating Indian laws during Dorsey’s tenure.

From the year 2020 to 2022, Twitter did not operate according to Indian laws and started complying with Indian laws from June 2022. No one was jailed and Twitter was not shut down. Twitter had a problem with accepting Indian sovereignty and Indian laws during Dorsey’s tenure.’
