Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal delegation reached the Governor House today. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal met the Governor. Along with this, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Bikram Singh Majithia, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi submitted a demand letter to the Governor regarding the issue of SYL.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Sukhbir Badal accused the Punjab government and said that the “AAP” government wants to give the water of Punjab to Haryana. Badal said that we will not give water to Punjab at any cost. He said that even a drop of water will not go out of Punjab. He targeted Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and said that Kejriwal has his eye on the water of Punjab.
Sukhbir Badal said that neither canal will be built nor water will go out in the state. He said that only 25% water is left in our part. Badal accused the Congress and said that the Congress has a big hand in taking away the water of Punjab. He said that the Congress government has given our water to Haryana and Delhi.
He said that we are ready for every sacrifice but will not allow SYL canal to be built in Punjab. Badal said that Aam Aadmi Party Punjab wants to give water to Haryana on the request of Kejriwal, our government gave a check of 196 crores to Haryana and gave the land to farmers, our clear stand is that we don’t know Punjab’s water. Granted, when Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister, she forcibly gave 3.5 MAF of water to Haryana, after which the Akali Dal put up a front.
