3 accused were arrested
In the case of fraud related to Manpreet Badal, the Vigilance Bureau has arrested 3 accused Rajiv Kumar resident of New Shakti Nagar Bathinda, Amandeep Singh resident of Lal Singh Basti Bathinda and Vikas Arora resident of Tagore Nagar Bathinda. They were produced in court on Monday and are being questioned on remand till September 28.
Badal got stuck on the complaint of his own party leader
Former Bathinda MLA Saroop Chand Singla had filed a complaint against Manpreet Badal. However, at that time Manpreet Badal was a minister in the Congress government and Sarup Singla was the leader of the Akali Dal. After this, Sarup Singla joined the BJP. When the Congress government was not formed and Manpreet lost the election from Bathinda, he also joined the BJP. However, after the formation of the AAP government in the state, Sarup Singla’s complaint was investigated and apart from Manpreet, the Bathinda Development Authority A case was registered against three private individuals against Superintendent Pradeep Kalia and ADC Vikramjeet Shergill.

Vigilance had investigated the matter after the complaint of former MLA Sarup Chand Singla. According to the investigation report, Manpreet Badal was the finance minister of the state in 2018 and 2021. He had considerable political pressure and influence on the local officials of the Bathinda Development Authority (BDA). Since 2018, a plot was being hatched to buy a plot near the TV tower in Model Town Phase One Bathinda. Due to which the officials and employees of Pudda put fake numbers of these plots on their own. Then in 2018 itself an event was created and bidding was done through e-auction.
