38 thousand pilgrims have registered for the Yatra of Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the first procession will leave tomorrow.


Along with Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the gates of Laxman Temple will also be opened on May 20. The first batch of pilgrims will be sent from Rishikesh on May 17 under the leadership of five lovers. So far more than 38,000 pilgrims have registered for the darshan of Sri Hemkunt Sahib. Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust is engaged in finalizing the travel preparations. Seeing the snow condition in the footpath and Dham, the children and the elderly have been asked not to join the Yatra for the time being.

Registration is necessary for the Yatra of Hemkunt Sahib
Narinderjit Singh Bindra, President of Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust, said that it is necessary to register for the Hemkunt Yatra. Children who are sick or suffering from respiratory ailments are not allowed to travel.

They will be allowed to travel only after the snow melts after June. He said that till the situation returns to normal after the snow melts from Astha Marg, the pilgrimage will also be restricted. If a devotee is unable to register himself for the Yatra, registration facility will be provided at the Rishikesh Gurdwara.

It should be said that in view of the heavy snowfall in Sri Hemkunt Sahib on Monday, the movement of children above 60 years of age and the elderly has been banned. In fact, the entire area is covered with a sheet of snow. The journey is scheduled to begin on May 20. Earlier, District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana reviewed the preparations with the employees before the inauguration of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Yatra route in Chamoli district.
