Chandigarh: Floods have caused heavy damage in Punjab after incessant rains last month. People have suffered a lot due to floods. Many farmers’ crops have been destroyed. For this they are waiting for compensation from the state government.

Although the government has so far estimated a loss of around 2500 crore rupees and has demanded a package of 1300 crore rupees from the central government, but even before receiving this package from the centre, the government has now informed the people of the damage caused by the Punjab floods. It may take time to get the money from the reimbursement preparation center.

Therefore, the state government will provide compensation in the first 12 districts of Mohali, Patiala, Ropar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Sangrur and Tarn Taran. The government has started conducting a house-to-house survey of the damage in the respective districts.
