Ludhiana A woman who was going to celebrate Raksha at her brother’s house was crushed by a truck driver. The truck’s tire ran over the woman’s leg. For about 30 minutes, the woman covered in blood was crying on the link road. Finally, a passer-by took him to the civil hospital in an e-rickshaw with the help of the accused truck driver. The injured woman has been identified as Veena resident Samrala Chowk.
According to information, Veena has two children who live abroad. Last night she was going to her brother Kamaljit’s house in Dugri. Veena was about to take an auto near Cheema Chowk, but before that she was hit by a truck.
Truck driver Narsingh said that he was bringing the vehicle from Chandigarh Road. He tried to turn the truck to fill fuel at a petrol pump before Cheema Chowk in Ludhiana but was hit on the side by another truck driver. He braked to save his truck. Little did he know when Veena landed under the tires of his truck.
The driver said that he sought help from several people but no one helped. He sat on the road with the woman for about half an hour. While there was also a police barricade a few steps away. No one helped the injured woman. Currently, the woman has been referred to another hospital after treatment. The hospital has informed the local police.
