ED has taken major action against AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra from Amargarh. According to the information, ED has attached his property worth Rs 35.10 crore. It is being told that the ED has taken this action in the case of money laundering related to bank loan and has attached the assets of Tara Corporation Company of Gajan Majra.

The property located in Malerkotla is linked to Tara Corporation Limited, the ED said in the statement. The assets have been attached by issuing a final order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED said the loan amount was transferred from Tara Corporation Ltd to various shell companies and then to Tara Health Food Ltd and another subsidiary – Tara Sales Ltd.

The agency said Rs 3.12 crore was diverted into Majra's personal accounts, besides Rs 33.99 crore was given to M/s THFL.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Majra from Punjab's Amargarh Vidhan Sabha constituency was arrested by the ED in early November in connection with this case. The money laundering case is linked to a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR related to an alleged bank loan fraud of Rs 40.92 crore.
