1.87 lakh fraud from a doctor in Ludhiana, know how the trap is laid, lest you also become a victim

In Ludhiana, the thugs made a doctor their victim. By hacking the doctor’s mobile phone, the thugs withdrew 1 lakh 87 thousand rupees from the account. The victim Dr. Sham Sundar Singla has given a complaint to Salem Tabri police station.

After two months of investigation, the FIR
After two months of investigation, the police registered a case against the accused. The victim, Dr. Singla, had sent a courier to Karnataka in the month of May. On 26 May 2023, he tracked the courier to check its location. In case of no tracking, he called the toll free number.

He cheated by saying that the courier was going to stop
On calling, the employee told him that he would call them from another number. After some time the accused started calling on mobile numbers 671264897, 8655651013, 6370728023 and 6351444756.

The accused told her that he was talking to the courier company and as per their records, his courier was detained. To unhold, they have to pay Rs.2. The accused told her that he was sending a link to her mobile number on which she could pay.

As soon as Dr. Singla clicked on that link, his mobile was hacked. Within a few moments, the accused withdrew Rs 1 lakh 87 thousand from his account through various transactions.

ACP has investigated and registered the case
The case was investigated by ACP Sumit Sood. The accused have been identified as Arif Maula resident of West Bengal, Santa Begum resident of village Santoshpura, Assam and Aisa Khatun. The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 420, 419, 66-D IT Act of the IPC.
