The Punjab government has assigned a big responsibility to 1997 batch IPS officer Mukhwinder Singh Chhina. Patiala Range IG Mukhwinder Singh Chhina has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). Home Secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh has issued orders to appoint Mukhwinder Singh Gill as Additional Director General of Police.
While serving as IG Patiala Range, Chhina handled several critical law and order situations, including the Dera Sacha Sauda crisis in Bathinda and the Kali Mata Mandir crisis in Patiala. Mukhwinder Singh Chhina who has also been IG Patiala. He also played an important role in dealing with the farmers’ agitation at PSPCL headquarters in Patiala.
Mr. Chhina, a 1997 batch IPS officer, has previously served as IG Human Rights, IG Crime PBI, Punjab. He has also been the IG of Bathinda and Ferozepur before this. Chhina has also been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Services.
