Vigilance caught the patwari red-handed while taking bribe

During the anti-corruption campaign, Punjab Vigilance has caught a goods patwari posted in Kapurthala district red-handed while taking bribe. The revenue patwari has been identified as Praveen Kumar and he has been arrested for accepting a bribe of 15,000.

Praveen Kumar has been arrested on the complaint of Ranveer Kaur, resident of Nehru Nagar, resident of Phagwara. Giving information, the complainant said that she resides at Saloah, UK, alleged that the said patwari demanded Rs 15,000 as bribe to get the house transferred and the name corrected after the death of her husband. Patwari has already taken 25000 rupees for this work and now he is demanding more money.

The Vigilance Unit of Jalandhar Range has investigated the allegations made in this complaint and registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the said Mal Patwari in Vigilance Bureau Police Station Jalandhar after being found guilty of demanding bribe amount.
