Sukhjit’s wife told the police that for some days Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Ramdas Nagar, Sanipur, had become her husband’s friend and used to give him alcohol. When the police continued the investigation, it was found that Gurpreet was dead and his wife Khushdeep Kaur filed an accident case in the police station, claiming that he died in a road accident.
Meanwhile, the police recovered a badly crushed body, which Khushdeep Kaur identified as her husband Gurpreet Singh. After registering a case of road accident, the police conducted an autopsy and handed over the body to the heirs, which was cremated. The turning point in the story came when Gurpreet Singh was found alive.
When the police proceeded with the investigation, it was found that Gurpreet is a wholesaler of Haldi Ram and Company and due to the loss in the business, his brain started going crazy. An accident insurance of Rs 4 crore was taken from his friend Rajesh Sharma. Rajesh told him that the entire amount will be given to the heirs based on the death certificate and post-mortem report.
After this, Gurpreet and Rajesh together planned to kill Sukhjit. He first took Sukhjit Singh to Rajpura. There he was given drugs mixed with alcohol. When Sukhjit lost consciousness, the accused hit the truck twice on his head and face so that he could not be identified.
This murder plan started 10 months ago. Currently, the police have arrested Gurpreet Singh, his wife Khushdeep Kaur, Sukhwinder Singh Sangha, Jaspal Singh, Dinesh Kumar and Rajesh Kumar and have also recovered the truck, cars and motorcycle used in the incident.
