The said Patwari has been identified as Iqbal Singh, who was posted at Mall Halka City Jalalabad District Fazilka. Giving information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that retired Patwari Iqbal Singh has been arrested on the complaint of Rajesh Kumar resident of Panje K Uttar District Ferozepur.
Giving more information in this regard, he said that the complainant Rajesh Kumar had lodged a complaint in the Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur Range that Patwari Iqbal Singh had registered a 4 marla plot, which he (the complainant) had registered through a transfer deed from his mother Kipa Rani. A bribe of Rs 2500 was taken in exchange for registering the transfer of C. When the complainant gave a copy of the deposit for taking a loan from a bank on the said plot, he came to know from the bank officials that the plot documents were fake.
The spokesperson said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team sent these documents to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Mohali for examination, and it was found that the said Patwari had issued fake ‘duplicate documents’ to the complainant Rajesh Kumar.
In this regard, a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the said Patwari at Police Station Vigilance, Ferozepur Range and further investigation of the matter is ongoing.
