Vigilance Bureau arrested 9 chemists running shops with fake certificates of D-Pharmacy

The Vigilance Bureau has arrested nine chemists in the D Pharmacy scam in Punjab. These chemists had been selling medicines for years with the help of fraudulently obtained D Pharmacy certificates. These certificates were obtained from six institutions. The investigation revealed that fake certificates were issued to 143 students in 17 years from 2005 to 2022 with collusion.

The accused also fraudulently took admission in the Punjab State Pharmacy Council (PSPC). Vigilance has named all the accused in the case and the accused are being interrogated. So far 12 people have been arrested in this case.

Along with this, the management of many colleges in the state, those obtaining fake certificates and government employees are on the target of the government. According to vigilance officials, private institutions have earned lakhs of rupees by doing this. Fake certificates of D-Pharmacy are sold for Rs 2 to 4 lakhs.

According to the vigilance, all the arrested accused had obtained D-Pharmacy certificates from private pharmacy colleges with connivance, among the colleges from which the accused obtained certificates, Punjab Multipurpose Medical Institute Shehna District Barnala, Lord Krishna College of Pharmacy Lehragaga District Sangrur. , Omkar College of Pharmacy Tehsil Sunam District Sangrur, Ma Saraswati College of Pharmacy Abohar District Fazilka, GHG College of Pharmacy Raikot, District Ludhiana and Lala Lajpat Rai College of Pharmacy District Moga.

To fill the vacant seats in the private D-Pharmacy institutions of the state, the private institutions have appointed two former registrars of the Punjab State Pharmacy Council PSPC, Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj and Dr. Tejveer Singh and present Superintendent Accountant Ashok Kumar shook hands.

He admitted students from other states by taking bribe without obtaining migration certificate. Apart from this many students take admission in D Pharmacy through 12th qualification in medical or non-medical stream privately, while this qualification is done in regular colleges along with science practical.

Among the accused arrested by the vigilance are Umesh Kumar resident of Bhadson district Patiala, Muhammad Aslam resident of Malerkotla city, Abdul Satar resident of Kamui Lasoi district Malerkotla, Muhammad Manir resident of village Binjoki Khurd district Malerkotla, Gurdeep Singh resident of Mandi Gobindgarh, Punit Sharma resident of Bahadurgarh district Patiala. Ravinder Kumar resident of Chhappar village, Patiala district, Ashok Kumar resident of Barnala city and Maninder Singh resident of Road Ludhiana city have been arrested.
