Earlier on Friday afternoon, former Finance Minister Manpreet Badal had filed a bail petition. Manpreet through advocate Sukhdeep Bhinder has sought relief from the court of District and Sessions Judge Bathinda. It will be heard on October 4. Earlier, Manpreet Badal had withdrawn the anticipatory bail petition. This petition was filed before the case was registered.

There is a case of fraud in plot purchase case

A case of fraud in buying a plot has been registered against Manpreet Badal in Bathinda. They are accused of buying two plots at a low rate with the connivance of Bathinda Development Authority officials. Due to which the government has suffered a loss of 65 lakh rupees. Not only this, Manpreet conspired to usurp the plot while he was the finance minister since 2018. After which a fake bid was made. Then later they bought plots in the names of two specific persons and entered into illegal agreements with them.

Manpreet Badal is still absconding

Since the case was registered, Manpreet Badal is absconding. Vigilance is conducting raids in several states in search of them. In this case, police had registered a case against Manpreet Badal, the then DA Administrator Vikramjit Sher Gill, Superintendent Pankaj Kalia, Rajeev Kumar, Vikas Arora and Amandeep Singh. Vigilance has arrested Rajeev Kumar, Vikas Arora and Amandeep Singh in this case. Who is on vigilance remand till September 30.
