Bureau Report: After building big houses in Punjab, NRIs who go abroad have only one concern, will someone grab their houses? Do not take illegal possession. When they come to Punjab in 2 or 3 years, their houses should not become ruins? Who will clean the house from repair? 7 This is the biggest concern for the Punjabis sitting across the sea. But 2 young men saw this concern of NRI’s Punjabis as a big business officer for themselves and prepared such a business model with which NRI Punjabis are breathing a sigh of relief away from worry abroad and these young men are earning well.

Two youths from Nawanshahr, Harpreet Singh and Sukhveer Singh, have been working for NRI’s for a year and a half. At present, he has taken responsibility for the houses of about 50 migrants. This idea was given to them by NRI’s. In fact, Harpreet and Sukhveer Singh used to rent cars to NRIs coming from abroad when they came to Punjab. When NRI’s used to go back abroad, the pain of going away from home was in their mind and they were worried that who will take care of the house? No one should usurp it or if the house is not cleaned, it should not become a ruin. Often the NRIs shared this concern while accompanying Harpreet and Sukhveer. Just because of this concern of NRI’s, both of them thought why not start it as a business.

According to Sukhveer Singh, his family lives in Canada, he used to take care of the houses of his 2 or 3 relatives. Then all the other NRI’s also went with Harpreet Singh and Sukhveer to take money to take care of their houses. Just then the business started, the biggest challenge in front of both was NRI’s trust. For which the migrant Punjabis were always worried. To overcome this concern, both of them prepared a business model.

This is the business model

According to Harpreet Singh, we do complete paperwork before entering into an agreement with NRIs so that trust remains. First of all, Sukhbir and Harpreet ask the expatriate Punjabis to install a CCTV camera in the house so that they can keep a complete eye on the house even while sitting abroad. This is the first step of trust. When a house is taken from NRI’s then the house is cleaned twice a week. From the floor to the sofa, the bed, everything is cleaned. For this, some religious figures are employed. If something needs to be repaired or replaced in the house, then NRI’s are contacted, a complete quotation is made and sent to them, after approval, the complete work is done. The best thing about this business model is that after the work is done Harpreet or Pir Sukhbir do not keep the keys but hand them over to the relatives of the NRIs so that they don’t have any fear that their house will not be grabbed. . Meanwhile, NRI’s are keeping an eye on their house through CCTV footage. Harpreet and Sukhveer have received money in return.

Immigrant Punjabi happy with Harpreet and Sukhveer

Harpreet and Sukhveer have the responsibility of 50 NRI’s houses so far. In the four districts of Doaba region, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr, most of the houses that had become ruins have been changed by the two friends through their business model. Premdeep Kaur from Canada says that my mother-in-law was not ready to come to us because she was worried that the house would be damaged. Many memories were associated with the house. But now we are worry free, in a few rupees we have kept our house safe and clean. They said that earlier we had hired a woman in the village to clean the house but we were not satisfied with her services.

Premdeep Kaur told us that we had heard a lot of praise for Harpreet and Sukhveer from NRI’s friend after which we gave him the responsibility of our house with conditions. They say that we are quite satisfied with it.

NRI Zorawar Singh says that we had given the responsibility of maintaining our house to the person to whom we had given the land contract. He had promised us cleanliness in the house. He used to assure us that the house was in good condition but the reality was different. The condition of the house was getting worse and worse, we heard about Harpreet and Sukhveer and then entrusted them with the responsibility of the house, we are now satisfied.

The most recent example of cheating with NRIs is that of NRI elderly mother Amarjit Kaur, whose house was fraudulently taken over and it was blamed on MLA Sarabjit Kaur Manuke. Manuke had to vacate the house due to this matter coming under political protection and NRI veteran mother Amarjit Kaur got her house back. But not everyone is as lucky as Amarjit Kaur. About 60 lakh migrant Punjabis live all over the world. This time, 659 complaints were received in the NRI convention, most of them were related to property. But the way Harpreet Singh and Sukhveer turned the difficulties of NRIs into opportunities for themselves and set up a business is highly commendable. Through this business, they can earn crores of rupees. But for this, it will be necessary to have such a strong team that cannot make any compromise in terms of service and can live up to the trust of NRIs. Because this entire business model is based on service.
