Vigilance arrests patwari for taking bribe, asked for money in exchange for registering transfer of land

Punjab Vigilance has arrested the Patwari of Barnala while taking bribe. The vigilance team caught Patwari Jatinder Singh red-handed while taking a bribe of 20,000 from the Patwar Khana built above the service center in the district administrative complex. Patwari was demanding bribe for transfer of land.

Giving information, Congress leader Amarjit Kaka said that a friend of his, Jaswinder Singh, had bought about one acre of land. Patwari was demanding Rs 20,000 to replace him. He complained about it to Vigilance. The vigilance team arrested the patwari by setting a trap.

DSP Vigilance Rajan Sharma said that action will be taken against the accused Patwari under the Corruption Act.
