Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said that the interests of all sections of the society, including farmers, tribals, women, youth and the middle class, have been kept in mind in the Union Budget.

Talking to reporters here, Fadnavis said, “The tax exemption on income up to Rs 7 lakh will help the lower middle class. On the other hand, the income tax limit of Rs 1.5 lakh on income up to Rs 15 lakh will provide a big relief to the middle class. This budget will help the middle and lower middle class to fulfill their aspirations.”

Describing the general budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as ‘all-people friendly’, he said that all sections and regions of the society have been taken care of in it. Describing the allocation of Rs 10 lakh crore in infrastructure as unprecedented, he said that this would help in boosting infrastructure development.

Union Minister Raosaheb Danve said that the agriculture sector has always been given priority in the budgets presented by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led governments and the same has been done in this budget.
