Siddha hair oil is formulated with a blend of coconut oil, sesame oil, fenugreek and rose. For this recipe, grind 5 to 6 camphor tablets and mix them in a bowl of proven hair oil. Apply this oil on the affected area or massage it on the scalp and leave it for 2 hours.

Siddha oil has been considered most effective for baldness and weak hair. A research conducted by Researchgate on Siddha Oil proved that this oil is considered effective for baldness, hair fall, dandruff and split ends. The same camphor helps in hair growth by eliminating the infection.

2. Onion and honey hair mask

For this recipe, grate 2 medium sized onions and extract its juice. Also prepare a paste by mixing 2 spoons of honey in it. Apply this paste on the scalp and leave it for an hour. Finally wash hair with mild shampoo. Do try this recipe 8 to 10 times in a month.

According to a study by NCBI, onion also eliminates scalp infection by strengthening the roots. The antifungal and antibacterial properties present in honey fight the problem of dandruff by moisturizing the scalp.

3. Olive and Coffee Paste

Both olive and coffee have been considered beneficial for hair. For this recipe, take 2 teaspoons of coffee in a bowl and add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and honey to it. Apply this paste on the scalp and less hairy area and leave it for 30 minutes. After this wash your head. Do try this recipe 2 to 3 times a week.


According to experts, the anti-oxidant present in coffee cleans the scalp and removes the factors that prevent hair growth. The International Journal of Trichology has recognized that both olive and coffee are helpful in hair growth.

4. Fenugreek and Buttermilk

Buttermilk has been considered beneficial for scalp massage. Take 4 spoons of fenugreek powder in a bowl and add buttermilk as required. Massage the scalp with this Ayurvedic recipe and leave it for an hour. Finally wash hair with mild shampoo.

The compound present in fenugreek controls the androgen hormone, which is the main cause of hair fall. In Ayurveda, buttermilk has been described as effective for hair problems. It keeps the scalp clean by reducing itchiness and dryness.

5. Milk and licorice paste

Mix two spoons of licorice powder and 2 pinches of turmeric in a cup of milk. Massage well by applying this paste on the affected area and the entire scalp. Leave this paste on your head for about an hour.

Mulethi is considered a medicine in Ayurveda. It has been shown to be effective for weak roots, hair fall, dandruff and dull hair. The same milk will maintain moisture in the scalp, due to which dandruff and roots will not become dry.
