Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the above accused has been arrested after investigating the online complaint made by Hardeep Singh, a resident of Mansa city, at the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line.

Giving further details, the spokesperson said that the said complainant has alleged that the said accused Rakha Singh had demanded 3500 rupees in return for the operation of his (complainant) wife. He said that the complainant recorded the entire conversation in this regard on his mobile phone and submitted it to the Vigilance Bureau as evidence.

The spokesperson said that after investigating the complaint, it was found that the said personal assistant had demanded a bribe from the complainant. He said that on the basis of the said inquiry, the said accused was arrested and a case of bribery has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Bathinda Range and further action in this regard is ongoing. He said that the role of the doctor concerned in this case will be considered during the investigation.
