Chandigarh: The politics of the state has been divided over the invitation given by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to the leaders of the opposition parties. Due to which the opposition parties are constantly besieging the Hon’ble government. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party chief spokesperson Malwinder Kang has targeted the opposition parties over the Punjab issue.
During a press conference, Kang said that those people who have been making trouble with Punjab and planting thorns in the roots of Punjab are withdrawing one by one from the debate called by the Chief Minister. Targeting BJP President Jakhar, Kang said that it seems clear from the statements made by Sunil Jakhar that Jakhar Saab is running away from debating the issues of Punjab.

Targeting Shiromani Akali Dal over the SYL issue, Kang said that the land acquired for SYL was done by late former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Kang claimed that through Land Acquisition Section 4, Parkash Singh Badal had first issued a notification on 20 February 1978 saying that we start the process of land acquisition to form the SYL of Punjab.

Kang claimed that Parkash Badal got permission to survey for SYL in Punjab because of his friendship with Devi Lal, who was the Chief Minister of Haryana at that time. Kang has mentioned Chaudhry Devi Lal’s statement in the Haryana Legislative Assembly, when he said that his friendship with Badal Sahab has come in handy.
Kang said that due to this decision of Prakas Badal Sahab, the atmosphere in Punjab was very bad at that time and those who talk about sacrifices today had sent their children to countries like America at that time.
