Amritsar: Four persons have finally been arrested in the case of firing on friends near Hotel Green Wood in Verka Bypass on the night of May 21. The Baleno car used in the incident has been recovered from the possession of the accused. The police have also recovered three mobile phones and a knife from their possession. This information was given by ADCP City-3 Abhimanyu Rana in a press conference.
ADCP Rana has identified the accused as Kunal Mahajan alias Keshav resident of Shivala Bagh Bhai of Rambag police station area, Bhupinder Singh alias Ladi resident of street number five Sharifpura, Ajit Kumar alias Chauda resident of Model Town Quarter, Mohkampura. Along with this, Jhujhar Singh, a resident of Rasulpur Kaler, has been mentioned in the civil line of police station Batala of district Gurdaspur.
He said that the police are continuously raiding for the arrest of Pramdelip Singh alias Pamma alias Sukhchain Singh and Ankush, residents of Kajikot village of Tarn Taran, residents of Subhash Road (present Australia) located near the railway line at Chheharta.
Regarding this incident which happened on the night of May 21 at around 11:30 pm, the police of Maqbulpura police station had registered a case of murder with intent on the complaint of Ravneet Singh alias Sonu Mota, a resident of Ram Nagar, Sultanwind Road. He told the police that last night when he and his friends went out for dinner at Hotel Green Wood near Golden Gate of Verka Bypass, 3-4 persons in a Baleno car arrived there. Two persons got out of the car and started firing at them and after carrying out the incident, the accused fled towards Verka Bypass.
10 lakh robbery case solved
ADCP City-3 Abhimanyu Rana said that during interrogation of the accused Kunal Mahajan alias Keshav and Bhupinder Singh Ladi, two more cases of robbery have been solved. On the night of February 3, 2023, the accused robbed Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint from Shubham resident Nagina Avenue. Accused Ladi and Keshav along with Parmadleep alias Pamma took away the Baleno from Constable Gurmeet Singh at Medical Enclave on the night of May 16.
Other cases are registered against Ladi and Keshav
A case was registered against accused Bhupinder Singh alias Ladi on 3 June 2019 at Rambagh police station and on 14 March 2021 at police station Civil Line on 10 June 2022. While a case has already been registered against the accused Kunal Mahajan alias Keshav Mahajan in Ranjit Avenue police station on 31 October 2021.
