The last rites of lyricist Harjinder Singh Ball will be held in Jalandhar today

The body of famous Punjabi lyricist Harjinder Singh Bal will be merged with Panchtathat today. His last rites will be performed today at the Ladhewali (Ramamandi) crematorium in Jalandhar. 3 days ago lyricist Harjinder Ball died during treatment at PGI Chandigarh after a long illness.

First he was treated abroad but did not get relief, then he was admitted to a private hospital in Jalandhar. But when his condition worsened, the private hospital in Jalandhar referred him to PGI Chandigarh.

Lyricist Harjinder Singh Ball gave many songs which are still on people’s tongues. Many famous singers of Punjab including late singer Sardul Sikandar, Hans Raj Hans, Puran Shah Koti, Master Salim, Feroze Khan gave their voice to the songs written by him.

Harjinder Ball’s song ‘Jab Ho Gayi Meri Doli Akhian To Ohle…Pichho Rowangi Dekh Meri Gudiyan Patole’ sung by late Sardul Sikander, a famous Punjabi singer, is echoed even today at weddings.

Even the wedding album remains incomplete until this song penned by Ball is included in the farewell scene. Artists, singers, lyricists, writers of Punjabi film and music industry have expressed deep sorrow on his death.
