It is worth mentioning that Pong Dam and Bhakra Dam Bhakra Dam When the water level rises due to the release of water from Punjab, there is a risk of re-flooding in Punjab. The state government has ordered the administration of all the districts to be vigilant. The Minister of Punjab is also visiting the flood affected areas. CM Mann is also continuously monitoring the situation. The district administration is also making arrangements for the accommodation and food of the people.

4 districts of Punjab are in the grip of flood

Four districts of Punjab have been affected by floods. Water has entered many villages of Ropar, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Kapurthala. This situation has arisen due to opening of floodgates from Bhakra Dam on Sutlej and Pong Dam on Beas river.

The flood gates of Bhakra Dam will be kept open by 8 feet each for the next 5 days. Where on Tuesday, after 35 years, the floodgates of Bhakra Dam had to be opened 10 feet each, while water is being continuously released from Pong Dam. Due to this, there is a constant risk of floods in low-lying areas.
