Balbir Singh today visited the Department of Psychiatry of Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.

‘Campaign against drugs will be made successful’

Meanwhile, he visited the department’s model de-addiction center and also created a multi-purpose action plan to make the multi-phase campaign against drugs in the state successful by the medical education and health department. He said that the model of the psychiatry department of Rajindra Hospital De-addiction center (De-addiction center) will also be developed as a center of excellence as a training center for entire Punjab. He said that there are separate de-addiction wards for women and children, by using which this center will be made a center for de-addiction activities.

Social service organizations also cooperate-Minister

Dr. Balbir Singh has also appealed to the general public, people’s representatives and social service organizations to cooperate with the state government to make the state ‘Rangala Punjab’ and make it a drug-free and healthy Punjab. He said that the health department is fully prepared for de-addiction so that drug addicts can be taken to hospitals and de-addiction centers. Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab government is determined to break the drug supply chain. Along with this, help will also be given for self-employment by making them skilled, including giving jobs for the rehabilitation of drug victims. He further said that special grants will also be given to Mohalla Committees and Gram Panchayats, which will cooperate with the government to get rid of drug addiction.
