A 25 feet high wall collapsed in a street due to strong winds in Ludhiana. Two buildings were damaged due to the collapse of the wall. The windows of the three-storied buildings were broken. The deceased has been identified as Santalal Das, a resident of Bihar. The injured have been identified as Muhammad Abu Sahama and Kashiram. Deceased resided in Vijay Singh Colony, Ludhiana, He was working as a supervisor in ESSAN Fargin factory.
This accident happened in Kanganwal area. Sushil Kumar, who lives here, said that there has been a risk of this wall collapsing many times before. But the owner of the plot never noticed it. According to Sushil, this plot belongs to Rajindra Ispat.
After the accident, the surrounding people gathered together. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital. Also informed the police. Kanganwal police reached the spot. JCB was called to remove the debris from the incident site. The rescue operation continued till late night.
The dead body of Santalal Das was buried under the debris. He sustained severe head injuries, due to which he died on the spot. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it to the civil hospital for post-mortem. The family members of the deceased have also been informed. According to the police, the matter is being investigated.
