Simranjit Kaur (22), a resident of Tanda Kushal Singh, a teacher posted in the government primary school of Panjgarai village near Machiwara Sahib, committed suicide by hanging herself in the classroom.
The father of the deceased, Mohan Singh, said that Simranjit Kaur was teaching privately in this school for a year. According to information, at 2 o’clock in Panjgarai school, Simranjit Kaur hanged herself by tying her chin to a fan in the vacated classroom.
A person who came to pick up the children from the school shouted when he saw Simranjit Kaur hanging from the fan. Meanwhile, the principal and other staff present in the school brought down the teacher but by then she had died. The police questioned the family members, but the reason for the teacher’s suicide has not yet been ascertained.
