The Chief Minister has started the necessary preparations for conducting the Shiromani Committee elections

The process of revising voter lists and creating new votes has been announced to start from October 21

Laying the groundwork for the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee elections, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said that the process of revising voter lists and creating new votes will begin from October 21, 2023.

The Chief Minister said that this step would pave the way for holding elections which would ensure that the democratically elected Shiromani Committee takes over the affairs of the Sikhs. He said that it is unfortunate that an interim committee with an interim president is running the affairs of the organization. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government will ensure that the elections of the prominent Sikh body are held soon.

The Chief Minister sadly said that it is very unfortunate that the prestigious organization of Sikhs has now become a puppet in the hands of its elders. He said that unfortunately the decisions of this supreme body are taken in advance by the Akali leadership. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that there is a need to hold free and fair elections in order to throw out the Mahants of the modern era.

The Chief Minister said that all the decisions of this organization are decided by the Badal family and it is this family that implements the decisions. He said that it is a matter of great sadness that the interests of the members are being undermined by personal interference in the affairs of the Shiromani Committee. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that intelligent people will never forgive such people who are enemies of humanity.
