Gurgaon A case has come to light that a Gursikh youth, Hartirth Singh Ahluwalia, was refused entry to a restaurant in India for wearing ‘Kirpan’. A Sikh youth has accused a restaurant in Gurugram that he was denied entry to the restaurant because of his kirpan. Tweeting in this regard, the young man said that due to the intervention of some people, he was given entry to the restaurant, but later he was not given food when he entered.
Last night at Jalsa, a place I visit for momos, I was met with sheer disbelief. They denied me entry simply because of my kirpan. 🤯 This, in the 21st century, in a city like Gurgaon.

In the video, it can be clearly heard that the Sikh man with the kirpan is being prevented from entering the restaurant. A young man who entered the restaurant carrying a kirpan is heard saying that a kirpan is not a sword. With this we can go anywhere. This is also the ruling of the Supreme Court. Some people present at the restaurant also supported the Sikh youth.
With the support of some people, the Sikh youth entered the restaurant but he alleged that despite entering, he was not given food in the restaurant and returned without eating.
Let us tell you that Gursikh youth Hartirth Singh Ahluwalia runs an NGO. Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal has expressed grief over this incident. He said that alarming reports of a Gursikh being denied entry to a restaurant in Gurugram for wearing a ‘Kirpan’ points to the need to educate the society about the symbols of the Sikh faith.

He said that the alarming news of a Gursikh youth Hartirth Singh Ahluwalia being denied entry to a restaurant in Gurgaon for wearing ‘Kirpan’ points to the need to sensitize the society about the unique identity of Sikhism and our religious symbols. . Such incidents happening in the country are condemnable and create a sense of insecurity among the minorities. I urge the Home Department to issue necessary instructions to ensure that such acts are not repeated. I strongly condemn this incident
