Tarandeep was recruited in December 2018. He was the only son of the family. In December this year, he was to come on leave to pay obeisance at Fatehgarh Sahib on the occasion of Shahidi Purab and meet his family. Before this, he himself had become a martyr.

Tarandeep Singh’s father Kewal Singh said that his son had gone on duty in Leh Ladakh after taking a leave of about one and a half months. They were going to join the games to be held at some place with other colleagues. The accident happened due to the steering lock of the car on the way.

He wanted to marry his sister before him

There were frequent discussions in the family about Tarandeep Singh’s marriage. But Tarandeep refused. His wish is also that he should marry his elder sister first. After this she will marry herself. The family was looking for a good boy for their sister. On the arrival of Tarandeep in December, the family had to take a decision among themselves regarding the sister’s marriage. Tarandeep’s father is a small farmer. He supports the family by cultivating 3.5 acres of land.
