Madhya Pradesh : In the Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh), in the case of the death of a two-and-a-half-month-old girl due to being hit with a hot iron rod more than 50 times in the name of treatment by an exorcist, the administration has sent the girl for investigation. The dead body has been dug out from the grave. An official gave this information on Saturday.

District Collector Vandana Vaidya said the girl’s body was exhumed on Friday and the post-mortem would be done on Saturday. He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the girl died due to pneumonia, but the real cause of death would be known after the post-mortem report.

The girl’s mother, a resident of Kathautia under Singhpur police station area of ​​the tribal-dominated district, said that the family first took the sick daughter to a quack doctor but her condition did not improve. The family later approached a woman, who tried to cure the child by burning her body 51 times with a hot iron rod.

The mother said that when the girl’s condition deteriorated, she was taken to the district hospital, from where she was referred to Shahdol Medical College. The girl died during treatment on Wednesday. After this, the relatives buried the dead body of the girl child. After getting information about the incident from the local media, the administration decided to take out the body. (agency)
