The Akali Dal president visited the village of Bakainwala and other villages and saw how much damage has been done to the sugarcane fields and wheat crops here and in the adjoining Sri Muktsar Sahib district.

They demanded that those whose houses and orchards were damaged should be compensated within 15 days. He said that if this is not done, the Akali Dal will wage a struggle to get justice for the affected farmers. He also interacted with the Deputy Commissioner of Fazilka on this occasion and also offered to give more funds from his MP led funds if needed.
He said that the government should not be lax in compensating the affected farmers. On this occasion, he also condemned the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for not visiting the affected area and not giving immediate compensation to those affected by the cyclone. He said that even before this, the AAP government has failed to compensate the crop damage. He said that if the government fails to give reasonable compensation, then we will wage a continuous struggle against it.

Before this, Sukhbir Badal visited many villages of Lambi Constituency where there has been heavy damage to the standing crop of wheat due to heavy rain and hailstorm. They also interacted with the farmers in Dabwali Dhab, Karamgarh, Bhagwanpura, Shamkhera and Gurusar Jodha villages. Sikanan said that the government has not yet reached out to them and the farmers demanded immediate relief. Sardar Badal demanded that the farmers whose wheat crop has been severely damaged should be given compensation of Rs. 50 thousand per acre and Rs. 25 thousand per acre for partial damage.

Sardar Badal asked the Chief Minister not to punish the farmers. He said that the AAP government has adopted an anti-farmer attitude after assuming power in the state. He said that earlier the Chief Minister encouraged the farmers to plant the mung bean crop by saying that he would buy the entire crop as per the MSP, but later only a few crops were bought and the farmers suffered a huge loss. He said that the farmers were not given any compensation for the decrease in wheat yield due to the increase in heat in the unexpected weather last year.
The president of Akali Dal said that on one hand the farmers are suffering and on the other hand the Chief Minister is engaged in gimmicks and at the cost of the treasury of Punjab, he is busy promoting his boss Arvind Kejriwal across the country. He said that daily crores of rupees are being wasted on advertisement but the farmers are not being compensated for the loss.
On this occasion, senior leader Dr. Mahendra Rinwa and Hans Raj Joshan also reached village Bakainwala along with Sardar Badal.
