Giving information in this regard, Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that apart from giving free dairy training to Scheduled Caste farmers by the Punjab Dairy Development Board, Rs 350 per day stipend will also be given during the training.

He said that during the training, the candidates will be trained in buying and maintaining milch animals, breed improvement, making products from milk, protecting animals from seasonal diseases, preparing feed for animals at home and growing green fodder throughout the year. Singh Khudian said that this training was conducted at Chathamli (Rupnagar), Bija (Ludhiana), Phagwara (Kapurthala), Sardulgarh (Mansa), Verka (Amritsar), Gill (Moga), Abul Khurana (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Tarn Taran and Sangrur. It will be given in 9 training centers located. Under this scheme, training will be given in three batches.

Under the first batch, the training will be from July 24 to August 4, 2023 and the counseling in this regard will be held on July 17. The second batch will be held from September 25 to October 6, 2023 and the counseling will be held on September 18. The third batch will be held from November 28 to December 8, 2023 and the counseling for this will be held on November 20.

Giving information about the eligibility criteria for this training program, the Cabinet Minister said that the candidates (male and married women) between the age of 18 to 50 years can apply for the training and they must have 5th pass in addition to belonging to rural areas. . They will also be provided with a one-day exposure visit and training kit. He asked the eligible beneficiaries to contact their nearest Deputy Director, Dairy Development Office.
