SGPC continues the meeting, the government should withdraw the amendment bill immediately: Dhami

A special meeting has been called today by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) regarding the 1925 amendment regarding Gurbani broadcasting in the Vidhan Sabha. The meeting is being held by the Shiromani Committee in Teja Singh Samari Hall. Shiromani Committee President Harjinder Singh Dhami had indicated that if necessary in the session, taking tough decisions will not be avoided according to ancient traditions.

He had said that he is ready to face all kinds of challenges. Whatever has to be done in this regard, will be done according to the sentiments of the Sangat after discussing with the Sikh leaders. Today’s special meeting has been called at the Teja Singh Marine Hall in Amritsar, in which the amendment made in the Vidhan Sabha regarding Gurbani broadcasting is opposed. A further action plan will be drawn up to do this.

Harjinder Singh Dhami has presented the agenda of the meeting. He said that the interference of the government will not be tolerated. The government should withdraw the amendment bill immediately. He said that the history of SGPC is 103 years old. In this session, the act brought by the Shiromani Committee has been completely rejected. Along with this, it was said that the front will be started from Akal Takht.
