Amritsar News. The farmers-labourers of Punjab are protesting today against the G-20 summit to be held in Delhi. Farmers’ anger is against the central government. Farmer leaders say that the anti-national policies of the central government are leading the country to slavery. Farmers say that the nations participating in this conference, which have control over 75 percent of the world’s economic resources, want to control everything from air routes to sea routes, water, mining etc. in India. Telecom, railways have already been sold. He said that all this is going to happen because of the Centre.

Central government’s policies are anti-national – Pandher

Sarwan Singh Pandher, leader of Punjab Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said that the central government’s policies are anti-national. Therefore, today the G-20 summit is being opposed not only in Punjab but also in North India by 16 farmers’ organizations. Pandher said that when the farmers’ movement took place in Delhi, the central government used to say that people were facing difficulties.

He said that the central government has now imposed a lockdown in Delhi for three days. People are not being allowed to come on the streets. The slums of the poor have been hidden behind by placing large curtains in front. The central government should tell that people are not facing problems anymore.

Demonstration by 16 farmer organizations

Farmer leaders say that dharnas are being given by 16 farmer organizations in 13 districts of Punjab. He said that this demonstration is taking place in all zones of 13 districts. Farmers and laborers are protesting by gathering in their respective zones and blowing the effigy of the central government.

Organizations marched towards Chandigarh

Let us tell you that this is the same organization of farmers which recently took out a protest march towards Chandigarh on August 21. The police resorted to baton charge at many places to stop the farmers. Along with this, many farmers were detained and many farmers were arrested and put in jails.
