Sanitary inspector caught taking Rs 4000 bribe

Punjab Vigilance Bureau : As part of the anti-corruption campaign in Punjab, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Sanitary Inspector Jitinder Vij, posted at Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana Zone-D, for accepting a bribe of Rs. 4,000. Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the said sanitary inspector was arrested on the complaint of Mahi Ram, a resident of Tower Colony, near Anaj Mandi, Ludhiana (who is originally a resident of village Hindbathi, district Damo, Madhya Pradesh). is

Giving more information in this regard, he said that the said complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that he used to collect glass bottles, plastic and iron goods from the garbage heap near bus stand Ludhiana and the said sanitary inspector collected these waste goods from him. Karan used to demand a bribe of Rs 15,000 per month in return.

The complainant further stated that the said accused has already taken Rs 8,000 as first installment of bribe from him and is demanding more money. The spokesman said that after the preliminary investigation of the allegations, the vigilance team of Ludhiana range laid a trap and the said inspector was arrested on the spot after taking Rs 4,000 as the second installment of bribe from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.

In this matter, a case has been registered against this sanitary inspector under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Ludhiana Range. He will be produced in a local court tomorrow. He said that further investigation of this matter is going on.
