Lucknow: Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The court has refused to further hear the disproportionate assets case against Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh Yadav and Prateek Yadav. The court said that the CBI had closed the case in 2013 after preliminary investigation. So now there is nothing left in this matter.

The Supreme Court heard the disproportionate assets case of Akhilesh Yadav and his family on Monday. The court heard this on the petition of petitioner Vishwanath Chaturvedi. In this, Vishwanath Chaturvedi had said that the CBI has not taken any action in the matter till now, while in March 2007 the court had ordered an inquiry.

After this, the Supreme Court refused to hear further in the disproportionate assets case. The Supreme Court said in 2013 the CBI had closed the case after preliminary investigation. Now there is no need to seek further report from CBI. The Supreme Court has also rejected the application seeking a copy of the CBI’s closure report in the case. The Supreme Court said that there is no basis for hearing the petition now. There is no justification for hearing the petition filed six years after the closure of the investigation.
