Dhilwan police of Kapurthala have arrested a drug smuggler. 50 grams of heroin has been recovered from the arrested smuggler. Dhilwan police station SHO Balbir Singh said that a case has been registered against the accused and the investigation has been started.
According to the information, ASI Kuldeep Singh along with his fellow employees were going to places like Lakka Mandi, Purana Gate, Purana Pul, Dhillwa etc. while on patrol in a private car in search of a suspicious person. Just then, a young man with a muffler on his head was seen coming from the front.
On seeing the police party, he immediately retreated and started running. Taking advantage of the darkness, he took out a wax envelope from the left pocket of his jacket and threw it in the grass by the roadside.
ASI Kuldeep Singh caught him with the help of fellow employees. During police interrogation, he gave his name as Parbhjot Singh alias Parbh, a resident of Danianwala police station, Khalchian district, Amritsar. On searching, 50 grams of heroin was recovered from him. A case has been registered against the accused. An investigation is being started in the matter.
