Bureau Report: Amritsar Police has arrested Joga Singh, another close associate of Waris Punjab chief Amritpal Singh. This has been verified by the DIG of Bard Range of Amritsar. Joga Singh has been arrested from Sirhand during a joint operation by Hoshiarpur Police under the leadership of SSP Satinder Singh of Amritsar Rural, he was trying to escape to Haryana. Police said Joga Singh was arrested on Saturday afternoon. DIG said Amritpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh stayed with Singh outside Punjab but Joga Singh was in direct contact with Amritpal Singh from March 18 to March 28. It was Joga Singh who arranged for the stay of Amritpal and Papalpreet Singh in Pilibhit. SSP Satinder Singh said that it was Joga Singh who brought Amritpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh back to Punjab on March 27. He was the one who arranged the vehicles. On March 27 and 28, all four reached Hoshiarpur together. Papalpreet Singh Joga Singh and Gursant Singh have been arrested by the police while Amritpal Singh is still being said to be out of police custody.
The DIG said that Joga Singh is being interrogated and action will be taken based on that. A case of AMR Act was registered against Joga Singh in Hoshiapur on March 28. The DIG said that the police have many leads, on the basis of which Papalpreet Singh was arrested first and now Joga Singh has been arrested. However, the police have not said whether action will be taken against Joga Singh under NSA or not. The DIG assured that he will share more information in the coming days. So far action has been taken against 9 people under NSA who have been locked up in Assam.
