More than 600 farmers cheated by Wahid Sandhar Sugar Mill.

40 crore due from farmers towards the mill

During its investigation, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has brought out surprising facts regarding the Golden Sandhar Sugar Mill located in Phagwara of Kapurthala district. The mill, formerly known as Wahid Sandhar Sugar Mill, has not been able to clear the dues of the sugarcane growers for the last four years and farmers owe the mill about Rs 40 crore 71 lakh 68 thousand.

Expressing this, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that this matter has come to light at a time when the sugarcane crushing season is going to start in the first week of November. Despite the repeated demands of sugarcane growers, Golden Sandhar Sugar Mill has been running away from its financial responsibilities since the management of Wahid Sandhar Sugar Mill.

Apart from this, a very surprising fact is that farmers are now getting IDBI. Banks are getting legal notices from Phagwara, in which they have to pay a total KCC of Rs 3,00,000 to the bank per farmer. (Kisan Credit Card) is being asked to repay the loan. The surprising thing here is that the farmers do not know anything about taking loans from banks or using loan funds.

Due to the situation caused by this confusion, the sugarcane growers have suffered a lot of loss and they have not been paid 40 crore 71 lakh 68 thousand rupees for the sugarcane crop. Along with this, about 600 farmers have registered themselves as KCC. They are feeling trapped in the stalemate regarding the loan liabilities, according to which a liability of Rs.3,00,000 is being drawn towards each farmer under the guarantorship of the mill.

He said that the Punjab Vigilance Bureau is keeping a close watch on the situation with the hope of resolving this confusion keeping in mind the interests of the farmers.
