Cabinet Minister Punjab Bram Shankar Jimpa said that providing unadulterated food items to the people of the state is the main priority of the Punjab government, therefore a special campaign has been launched to prevent adulteration in the entire state.
Bram Shankar Gimpa was talking to reporters after flagging off the food safety testing van on wheels that arrived at Hoshiarpur. Meanwhile, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar, District Health Officer Dr. Lakhbir Singh were also present with him.
The Cabinet Minister said that samples are taken on the spot in this van run by the Health Department Punjab for food inspection and an inspection report is given. This van has been given to Hoshiarpur district on rotation basis for four days and in the coming days also this van will continue to come to the district for checking. He said that a laboratory has been built inside these vans, in which samples of juice, oil, milk products, spices etc. are checked at a rate of only Rs. 50 per sample and the report is handed over to the shopkeeper on the spot. is He said that the purpose of the van is to spread awareness so that adulteration can be stopped.
Bram Shankar Jimpa said adultery will not be tolerated in the district at any cost. He said that ensuring the availability of pure food items to the people is the main need of the hour. He said that people also need to be aware. He appealed to the sellers and manufacturers of food and drink items in the district to ensure the sale of pure, standard and quality items in view of public interest and not to sell any kind of waste or adulterated items.
District Health Officer Dr. Lakhbir Singh said that apart from shopkeepers, consumers can also get their food and drink items inspected through this food safety van at a cost of just Rs. Machines are given on the spot.
