Punjab Vigilance Bureau: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Chamkaur Lal, resident of Face 3B-1, Mohali, a Mall Patwari posted in block Majri of SAS Nagar district, on charges of amassing assets beyond his known sources of income during the ongoing anti-corruption drive in the state. .
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that this case has been registered against the said Patwari after the Vigilance investigation regarding the allegations of creating more wealth than the finance by buying immovable properties through corruption.
Giving further details, he said that during the investigation, it was found that he spent 76 percent more than his total sources of income. To adjust the ill-gotten wealth accumulated through corruption, he deposited huge sums of money through checks or direct transfers to the bank accounts of his son and wife through various persons.
The investigation has revealed that the said accused has built a luxurious house in Phase 3B-1 of Mohali by spending crores of rupees. Apart from this, he also has expensive cars. He said that under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the said accused Patwari, Vigilance Bureau police station Udan Dasta, Punjab, S.A.S. A case has been registered at Nagar. He will be produced in Mohali court tomorrow. Further investigation of this matter is ongoing.
