Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann asked the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president to clarify what else was done in the special meeting of the Shiromani Gurdwara Committee apart from accusing him. The Chief Minister said that it was surprising that the specially convened session was used as a platform to condemn him only. Bhagwant Mann said that he did not understand where the issue of free broadcasting of Holy Gurbani was lost in the meeting and why it was not raised. He said that this meeting is nothing more than a gathering of leaders to save the family ruling the Shiromani Committee.

The Chief Minister said that Harjinder Singh Dhami is acting as the chief spokesperson of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal only following the instructions of his superiors. He said that it is unfortunate that the meeting of the Shiromani Committee has been limited to criticism instead of considering the serious issue related to the propagation of Holy Gurbani. Bhagwant Mann said that people know everything and they know very well how the Shiromani Committee and its president are working as a puppet of a family in the Akali Dal.
Removed the word Singh from the name of CM Mann
During the meeting of SGPC, where the Gurdwara Amendment Bill 2023 was rejected, it has also been decided that a delegation against the bill will be met with the Governor and President, Home Minister Amit Shah. Apart from this, SGPC will also open a front against the Hon’ble government by praying on Shri Akal Takht. In the special session called by the Shiromani Committee, when Dhami presented a resolution against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the name Bhagwant Singh Mann was read in it. Former president Bibi Jagir Kaur and Shiromani Committee member Bibi Kiranjot Kaur objected that when Bhagwant Mann does not add the word ‘Singh’ to his name, then the word ‘Singh’ should not be added to his name in the resolution. On this, Advocate Dhami immediately accepted the amendment and said that the word ‘Singh’ is cut from it and it should be read as Bhagwant Maan. Gurpreet Singh Randhawa, a member of the internal committee of the Shiromani Committee, supported the separate channel of the SGPC on this occasion and said that each channel has its own separate channel, so the Sikhs have so much power that 10 channels can be run, just Sikhs need a voice.
Bibi Jagir Kaur and Dhami had a heated debate
